Romans 8:38-39 (King James Version)

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Open Letter to President Bush

By Anne T. Garcia

Mr. President,

I feel the Christian community has the credentials to come right into the Oval Office, figuratively speaking. That is, since the day of your inauguration we faithfully pray for you, early each day. Therefore, please hear us out.

In the early days of your administration, I recall your press secretary, Ari Fletcher, speaking eloquently against terrorism. He explained repeatedly to left wing journalists that there is never a justifiable reason to blow up innocent women and children. Furthermore, I recall you looking into the camera in those early days and saying, "America is the best friend Israel will ever have." Well, now is the time to prove it.

Simply put, Mr. President, call off Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. She is negotiating to partition Jerusalem. This information was leaked to the Palestinian newspaper al-Ayyan.

I appeal, first of all, to your love for democracy. You know that Israel is a democratic state. The approval rate of their Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, is under 3 percent. The people want him out. They will vote in the Likud Party's Benjamin Netanyahu if/when they have the opportunity. His popularity is over 70 percent and, by the way, he is opposed to giving up any of Jerusalem.

Therefore, why is America, who wants democracy in Iraq, trying to strong-arm Israel, against the will of her people? This simply doesn't compute. Conventional wisdom says that if the Jews will only recede to the pre-1967 War borders, then everyone will be nice and live in peace. That is all the Arabs want, to go back to those borders, correct? If that is true, then why was their a war in 1956? Or 1948?

In August 2005 the government of Ariel Sharon forcibly evicted the Jewish residents from the Gaza Strip, under the aegis of the United States. The ostensible plan was to turn the land over to the Palestinian Authority, who would then be at peace with the Jews. You know the story. The Gaza Strip was ransacked and ruined within days. Later the Gaza was lost to Hamas, who used it to send ketusha rockets into Southern Israel on a daily basis. Based on this "success story" your administration now wants to turn over more Jewish land to Arabs? Someone once defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

In fact, here is a truth to ponder: Israel only flourishes when in the control of the Jews. God's hand of blessing does not extend over Eretz Yisrael when it is in the hands of gentiles. It will always be that way. A bus ride through Ramallah or Nablus illustrates the point. Those cities present as a third world country, run down with debris and graffiti filling the landscape.

A century ago, after World War I, the great men of the earth met in Versailles. President Woodrow Wilson, Sir Arthur Lloyd George and Georges Clemenceau had no trouble agreeing to the Balfour Declaration, giving Israel to the Jews. They understood to whom the land belonged. After all, they were only two generations removed from Mark Twain, whose work "The Innocents Abroad" was a best seller in their day. In that book Twain chronicled his own travels through Israel in 1868, where he saw a barren land.

Fast forward to 1985, when Yasser Arafat addressed the United Nations and declared the Arabs had been the "age old inhabitants" of a verdant land we call Israel. He simply rewrote history. Israel was desert and swamp until the Zionists came from Europe at the end of the 1800s.

Ultimately Jerusalem will be divided, Jesus Himself said so: "And Jerusalem will be trampled by gentiles, until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled" (Luke 21:28).

But please, Mr. President, not on your watch.

The American people want you to protect Jerusalem, not decimate it. Please don't besmirch your stellar record against terrorism by giving Jerusalem to the Moslems.

Sincerely, etc.

Remember the first lie?

The Lie:
Genesis 3 (New American Standard Bible)
4The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die!"
5"For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
Now the Truths:
2 Corinthians 11 (New American Standard Bible)
3But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
Isaiah 44 (New American Standard Bible)
There Is No Other God
6"Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.
Hebrews 9 (New American Standard Bible)
27And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
