On this week's edition of"The Hal Lindsey Report,"
I'll discuss three critical stories that have direct bearing on our lives. Further, they each have enormous prophetic implications. First, Israel is in political turmoil following the resignation of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Forced from office by seven impending investigations for political corruption, he reluctantly stepped aside. However, he has stacked the deck to torpedo his successor's ability to form a new coalition. Current Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni won election as the new leader of the Kadima party, but she's facing an uphill battle to form a government. In the meantime, Olmert is the caretaker Prime Minister, but he's still determined to press ahead with his disastrous land-for-peace policies. While the government is in limbo, will Israel's enemies sense an opportunity?
America is, undeniably, the greatest military power that has ever existed on earth. Much of this strength derives from our tremendous technological prowess. Of course, most of that technology depends on computers and cyberspace. Likewise, we have the strongest and largest economy ever known in history. Similarly, much of that strength is dependent on computers and the power they provide. Most of our money is parked in the surreal, ethereal cyberworld. Actually, much of our wealth exists ONLY in cyberspace. Yet the very technology that gives the United States its tremendous advantage may be our Achilles Heel. Since our enemies can't defeat us head-to-head on the battlefield, they must engage us in unconventional warfare. This week, I'll show you how that battle has already started. Out here in earthquake country -- California -- we know that sooner or later "the big one" will hit. Of course, we all pray that it's much later than sooner! America is undergoing what can only be described as "The Big One." Financial earthquakes are hitting as relentlessly as the hurricanes in recent seasons.
(As I write this, we've just learned that Washington Mutual has failed and is being absorbed by J.P. Morgan Chase. This represents the largest bank failure in American history.) These are frightening times indeed. These collapses may be legitimate failures caused by government interference or non-interference, personal and corporate greed, and horrendously bad judgment on the part of company and government officials. Or, this may be a 'contrived collapse' engineered by the shadowy figures of the Money Trust (the dozen or so old banking families that control the world's economy). It doesn't matter, the effect is the same. The stage is being set at breathtaking speed for a man to emerge who can lead us out of the coming global economic meltdown. His calling card? The Antichrist. With every day that passes, speculation more clearly assumes the form of reality. Folks, Christ's return is drawing so close I can almost imagine Him drawing a breath to shout to His Redeemed: "Come up here!" Please make sure you, your family, your friends, your neighbors, and your co-workers are ready to go!
