I well remember the stock market crash of 1929, and the bank taking everything my father owned, including the mules and horses. The only thing left was six hungry kids.
Since Herbert Hoover I have lived through twelve presidential administrations: Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II. The Republic has survived Indian wars, the Civil War, the Spanish—American War, the War of 1812, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War with Russia, and God willing, the nation will survive present wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The U.S. has also survived through periods of economic depression, inflation, racial conflicts, immigration (legal and illegal), television, and gay marriage (so far). Our citizens have also been overtaxed (at least the middle class) to support philanthropic socialism, and now we have to deal with the CFR cancer (Council on Foreign Relations) of moving our industry overseas and outsourcing our jobs.
The CFR has not refuted, as far as I know, the statement by its former president, David Rockefeller, in his book Memoirs: . . . Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as internationalists and conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure-one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.
One of the major signs that Jesus Christ in the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24; Luke 21) gave for the last days was that there would be wars and rumors of wars. At the beginning of his first term as president, George W. Bush was immediately confronted with the problem of international Muslim terrorism with the tragic destruction of the Twin Trade Towers. The invasion of Afghanistan was a difficult operation, but supervised and carried out with masterful precision. The subsequent war in Iraq was also a most successful initial operation, but whether it was needed- - is highly questionable, and getting bogged down in a lengthy occupation and costly foreign war discredited the second Bush administration. However, the economic woes caused by the failure of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac mortgage entities were not entirely President Bush’s fault, as claimed by Obama. We coveréd this in the previous edition of the Prophetic Observer.
In many ways I concur that it is good for our nation to have a newly—elected black president. Never the less, having said this, I do have some credible concerns about what I know about him. I also have some concerns about what I don’t know about him.
1. His past associations with highly questionable political and even un-American figures, and his gravitation, as mentloned in his book, to Marxist professors. Were such associations just needed stepping stones to better things, or do they reflect serious character flaws and deep—seated political convictions?
2. Why did Mr. Obama continue membership in a church where the pastor, evidently, incessantly attacked the leadership and institutions of the United States. Was this because of his allegjance or the allegiance of Mrs. Obama to this man?
3. Mr. Obama's association and susport of his reported cousin in Kenya, Mr. Odinga, that resulted in the burning of 800 churches and the murder of over 1,000 Christians, after Odinga’s failure to win the presidency in Kenya, has not been explained. Missionaries and Chrlstians in Kenya have reported to us that they would like an explanation.
4. Al Gore’s theory of global warming has been disputed by over 31,000 scientists, and by our own trustee, Dr.Edward Buck, professor at the University of Oklahoma, who has served as weatherman for both the Air Force and NASA. Yet Mr. Obama accepts what we believe to be a dangerous theory that will initiate more taxation and even destroy needed industry. Does Mr. Obama have uncontested scientific proof to support his belief, or is his theory based on scientific ignorance? Either way is dangerous.
5. It would be most interesting to know how Mr. Obama outspent Mr. McCain four dollers to one in campaign expenditures and why so many Muslims, local and international, have supported his campaign.
6. Mr. Obama expressed a strong support for Israel when he visited lsrael this past year. Yet in view of his past association with Rashid Khalidi and his support from Muammar Qadaffi and other Muslims, it would be comforting for him to reaffirm that support now that he has been elected to our presidency.
7. National Security Force? Homosexual congressman Barney Frank, an avid promoter of Senator Obama, wants to reduce the military by 25 percent but Senator Obama, in a campaign speech at Colorado Springs, revealed his intention of creating an “Internal Security Force" bigger than the U.S. Army and Navy combined. To me, being a WWII veteran, this is scary. As I remember, Hitler and Castro did the same thing. Does the new president think our enemy is inside or outside? Will this force be directly responsaible to him?
8. I really do pray that Barack Obama will be the best president the United States has had sence George Washington. We really do need a Spirit-filled and God-directed president at this time. It would also be wonderful for all to have our first black president to be a great president. Nevertheless, the Bible warns us that in the last days many false christs, false prophets, and deceivers would come with many delusions. Therefore, the citizens of this nation should keep a careful watch on this silver tongued dude.
