As the New York Times put it, ANWR is a "pristine cathedral." Have you ever seen pictures of ANWR? It's just a grassy plain in summer, ice and
snow in winter. In their thinking, it would violate nature if the caribou and polar bears had to walk around a few oil rigs (I'm not making this up, this is really what they say). These people are living in La-La Land. Even Mr. McCain opposes drilling in ANWR, proving stupidity is contagious in Washington. At least he wants to drill off shore, and get the oil out of the shale
in Colorado and Utah. Recently Speaker Pelosi held a secret meeting with Democratic congressional candidates. She encouraged them to lie to their constituents and say they favored off shore drilling, if it helped to get them reelected. She promised she would never let a bill to drill off shore come up for a vote. Presidential Candidate Barack Obama is no more realistic than the Speaker. He plans to eliminate the need for all oil within 10 years. Let's think that through. First of all, only 40 percent of our oil is used to make gasoline.
Oil is used in deodorant, beauty products, tennis shoes, plastic and a myriad of other daily necessities. Furthermore, if it were possible to make an efficient automobile that doesn't use gas, why haven't the Germans or French done it? They're paying $9 a gallon at the pump over there. Mr. Obama further illustrated his naivete by declaring that if we corrected the air pressure in our tires and got regular tune ups, we would eliminate the need for more oil. This guy is clearly not ready for prime time. Mr. McCain's plan is far better. Bring 30 nuclear power plants on line, drill off shore and get the oil from the shale in Colorado and Utah. It's the best plan on the table and we need to endorse it. The man on the street, regardless of his political leaning, wants America to use our own oil. If Sen. Obama does not endorse extricating our own oil from our own soil and shale, he will lose this election. In fact, the American people are angry. Nancy Pelosi and the elitists of the Democratic Party embrace the far left agenda of the Green Party. Preserving nature at the expense of the economy may be fashionable on the left coast, but it won't play in Peoria.
We are sending billions of dollars a year to Middle East nations that hate us because the Democrats won't drill. The dollar is being devalued, and it's taking the worth of our homes down with it. We didn't work hard all our lives just to give up the American dream to satisfy the whims of a few "Green" nut cases. It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings. The gas shortage appears to be her final aria of this election cycle.

The price of gas at the pump has finally focused the attention of America's distraught families on the craziness going on in the Democratic Party. We are in need of oil and gasoline. There is more oil in the United States than there is in the Middle East, if you include the oil off shore. Yet we cannot use it-the Democrats in Congress won't allow it . In fact, when the Republicans controlled Congress in 1995 they passed a law making it legal to drill in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge. If President Bill Clinton had
not vetoed that bill, we wouldn't be in this mess today. We can have an adequate supply of American oil on line in five years if we begin ANWR drilling right now. According to the polls, 70 percent of the American people favor getting our own oil and becoming energy independent. So what's the problem? House Speaker Nancy Pelosi explained it in one sentence: "I'm trying to save the planet." This viewpoint is actually neo-paganism. Mother Earth is sacred. This thinking is popular in the post Christian atmosphere on the east and west coasts.
